Photo Guide

To create a beautiful and detailed portrait of your pet, having the right photo is key. Here’s a simple guide to help you capture the perfect image that I can work from.

Collapsible content

Lighting

Choose a well-lit area with plenty of natural light, such as near a window or outdoors. Soft, even lighting helps me capture the natural colours and details of your pet. Avoid harsh shadows or bright sunlight, as they can obscure important features.

Focus and Angle

Photograph your pet at eye level. This perspective helps capture their unique personality and expression. A clear, detailed shot of your pet’s face is ideal. Make sure their eyes are sharp and in focus, as this is where their personality truly shines. If possible, take several photos so I can choose the one that works best.

Personality

Think about what makes your pet special. Are they playful? Calm? Regal? Squiffy lip? Try to capture an expression or pose that reflects who they are. Whether it’s a close-up of their soulful eyes or a cheeky grin, this will bring their portrait to life.

Resolution

The higher the resolution, the better! A clear, detailed photo helps me see all the important textures and colours, ensuring I can create an accurate and lifelike portrait. If you're unsure about your photo's quality, feel free to send it over, and I’ll let you know if it’s suitable.

Framing

All portraits comedouble-mounted as standard, ensuring a professional and elegant presentation. For framing, I highly recommend taking your portrait to a professional framer to ensure the best finish. Alternatively, I can arrange framing for you at an additional cost, which will cover the frame itself and the extra shipping charges. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss framing options!

Giclée Prints

Pets hold a special place not just in your heart, but in the hearts of your family and friends too. I often hear, “My family loves it—they wish they had one!”. Well… now they can! For an additional cost, you can order a high-quality giclée print of your portrait, allowing your loved ones to cherish it just as much as you do.
